Hi, I’m Savitha Enner

Savitha Enner grew up in India and studied yoga at the feet of her ancestors and teachers learning yogic life. She has integrated these teachings with over 700hr teacher training she had taken in the US to help her students adopt the ancient teachings into modern-day practices. She teaches Asana, Pranayama, Meditation, Vedic Chanting and vegetarian cooking classes to immerse  Yoga as a foundation for a holistic and purposeful life.  Her Yoga classes are alignment-based vinyasa style practices intending to ignite curiosity among her students about their body, energy, and mind. She believes that yoga is a practice for self-realization.

From Ellicott City, MD to Leeds, England Savitha’s classes saved my sanity! I first met Savitha in Ellicott City, MD after telling a friend about how my hands would not stop shaking because of anxiety and !. Savitha’s classes were not only a place to care for one’s body and soul but also to learn so much from her amazing spirit. I then moved out of the US and spent a few years trying different yoga classes here in the UK and never found one I connected with. I’m so thankful I’ve had the opportunity to join Savitha’s class again in recent months as her classes have moved online. It has become the most important activity in my weekend and kept me energized for the rest of the week. Her wisdom brings a lot of perspective on everything in life and this is noticeable even by people who have only interacted with her briefly. I recently asked Savitha to treat my team to a meditation session and since then my team has been quoting her in our meetings and reminding everyone of her advice. Just makes me realize how lucky I am to know Savitha!

Savitha was the first instructor I practiced with when I began my yoga journey in January 2019. She has helped me tremendously, as she takes the time to break down poses and offers adjustments throughout her classes. Friendly and knowledgeable, I consider myself lucky to have Savitha as my teacher.

Savitha is an engaging, experienced teacher with a deep knowledge of the philosophy of yoga and how to build strength in any posture. I appreciate how she breaks down a pose and says we are all beginners on our yoga journey. Closing practice with meditation and chanting are my favorite parts. Wonderful class. Amazing teacher.

'There is nothing called life and work balance: Its all life. Yoga is a practice to connect ALL the things we do to live THE Life we want.'

My Story

Savitha Enner  – Yoga teacher, Storyteller , Vegetarian cooking class host
My journey of self realization has been seeking whats happening within me and connecting to what is  constantly changing around me. Something magically shifted when I stopped compartmentalizing myself, my family, work, community and the world around me ,instead I embraced all this as one big whole life of beauty, joy and grace. This way of living trickled into the way I cook, eat, practice, teach , parent and engage with the world. I believe my Dharma is to offer the kind of classes where my students can cultivate a discipline to be better seekers which enables them to design a equianamous life.
I  was born in a small town of Karnataka, southern India in 1979 .I  grew up  between a rural village in my grandparents home where nothing seems to change, preserving the ancient spiritual practices  and a dynamic city which adopted itself to the demands of post independent India. I have  a degree in science and masters in management which feeds my need for process and practices which are time tested and adaptable.I absorbed the teachings of yoga through everyday life in India  and immersed in a journey as teacher  here in the US in organized Yoga studios.I have taken 500hr YTT with Kim Manfredi  who mentored my curiosity to teach a various aspects of yoga. I did another 200hr YTT through Yogaworks to understand the anatomy of human body , adapt yoga postures to accommodate individuals. I have continued my education by taking workshops with Jason Crandell, Kino Mcgregor, Yoga institute of India , Tryaksha foundation and several teachers in India and in the US.
I have been teaching Yoga in the US for the last 7 years in Baltimore and suburbs of Maryland in studios like Charm city yoga, Yogaworks, Yoga Revelation , The Om collection ( online platform) and with Ashtanga yoga Howard county. My Asana classes are Vinayasa based with an emphasis  on adapting poses for individual bodies and maintaining curiosity. All my classes and courses include pranayama, mediation, chanting and discussions on Yogic texts. As a teacher with fondness for stories, I share ancient Indian philosophies through stories and poems.
I teach my cooking classes the way I teach yoga, by helping my students build foundational recipes for their taste and then to enjoy the process of cooking. The recipes I share are passed on from my family in India which are adapted to our new lifestyle. My private supperclub events offer a delicious place to share food , culture and community. I share my writings, recipes and events on www.savithaenner.com.
