Hi, I’m Michael Juengel

I took my first Yoga class in the summer of  2012. I was searching for a practice to cultivate self discipline, personal growth, healing, and self exploration. I was instantly hooked and has sustained a consistent daily practice ever since.

I completed my 200hr teacher training in the spring of 2014. In 2018, I completed my 300hr advanced teacher training with Anjali Sunita, Vivian Campagna and Mark Garner at the Baltimore Yoga Village.

My interests and study of Philosophy and Yogic Science are far reaching and ever expanding. My teaching style is warm, engaging, down to earth, clear, direct and very often light hearted. My objective is to facilitate a class where his students feel free to be fully embodied. Challenged. To expand. To awaken and realize their potential. To have his students leave feeling joyful. Strong. Calm,  more capable, resilient and fully alive.

“Michael’s classes are innovative, mindful, captivating, energizing and wonderfully guided and always so beneficial for the mind, body and spirit.”

Two of my favorite things about Michael are his thoughtful playlists and the steady and soothing cadence of his voice. Close your eyes and trust his cues to guide your practice. You will leave Michael’s clases feeling rooted and awakened (and probably a little sore!)

The Sunday Morning ritual of class has been so grounding. I appreciate Michael’s warmth and his ability to facilitate a class that always gets me warmed up. His classes balance strengthening poses with flexibility. There is a grounding sense of familiarity each week, with new moves or approaches interlaced, helping us grow our practice. Michael provides clear verbal instructions that help me focus on nuanced movements and help me cultivate bodily presence. He also makes great playlists for us to listen to while also holding space for quiet breathwork and infusions of meditation and Yoga philosophy.”

My Story

My primary Asana practice is a combination of traditional Hatha, Alignment based Vinyasa and Katonah Yoga.

I have been a student of Baltimore’s beloved Sarah Cook since 2014. I continue to practice and train with her several days a week. I studied and practiced Ashtanga with Heather Hax at Charm City Yoga. I studied, trained, and was Mentored by Baltimore Yoga Village powerhouse Vivian Campagna.

I have been studying and practicing Tibetan Buddhism since 2015. I have recently completed a traditional Tibetan Buddhist 100 day immersion of Yuthok Gonpo’s “Heart Essence” teachings under Tibetan Yogi and traditional Tibetan medical doctor : Dr. Nida Chenagtsang.

I am looking forward to offering in depth courses on Buddhist Science, Tibetan Yoga, Philosophy, Tantra and Meditation classes in addition to regular Asana practice.
