Music and Movement

Because we believe in inner freedom by whatever means moves you….

 Kirtan with Bhakti Tree

2nd Fridays of every month, 8-10 pm in Hampden, Join Bhakti Tree for music that moves you! Bhakti Tree is a gathering of friends who adore chanting, who adore each other, and who especially adore chanting together. With deep respect for the practice of kirtan, and an abundant sense of humor and playfulness, the members of Bhakti Tree offer their music with humble hearts in the service of love. With diverse musical backgrounds, these musicians connected through the kirtan community in Baltimore, and they soon discovered that there was a real synergy and flow in the music they were creating together. Bhakti Tree spins together traditional mantras, sacred chants and songs from around the world, and their own original songs. Blending together their ethereal harmonies and lyrical melodies with high energy tribal rhythm, threads of folk and gospel music, and funky reggae elements, their contribution to the world of kirtan fusion is fun, playful, enthusiastic, heartfelt, and inspiring. Bhakti Tree is comprised of Adam Kandel (voice/guitar/drum), Angela Blueskies (voice/flute), Dorianne Aillery (voice/hand percussion), Mark Dee (voice/didgeridoo/drum), and Ryan Sansing (voice, drum).
