Jivan Yoga Teacher Training, RYT 200

The Jivan Yoga Teacher Training at Baltimore Yoga Village is a comprehensive and experiential training for those interested in studying the essence of classical yoga practices, theories, and roots with an additional mentorship for those interested in teaching. Some of the topics that will be integrated into the course are as follows:

  • Ethics of Teaching
  • Ethical Business

We hold YTT on a 10 month schedule. The 2013 – 2014 upcoming schedule is as follows:

April 11 – 13, 2014

Friday evenings will run from 6:30 – 10 pm, Mt. Washington Location

Saturdays 11:30 – 8:30 pm, Hampden Location

Sundays 2 – 8:30 pm, Hampden Location

Staff
We bring teachers from around the country each year to generously offer each of these subjects with integrity and expertise. Past staff have included Guruji Hasu Patel (maestro of Indian Classical Music), Pierre Couvillion (of American Sanskrit Insititute and the Ayurvedic Insisitute), Dr. Steffany Moonaz (Yoga for Arthritis), Joy Bennet (senior instructor of Life Force Yoga for Depression), Dr. Lalita Noronha-Blob (anatomy), Jennifer Popken (certified Iyengar teacher, experiential anatomy), Vivian Campagna (Anusara Certified Teacher, experiential anatomy), Trish Magyari (Mindfulness Meditation), Adhikari Sacha (Samyama meditation). Each year the staff varies slightly but we always bring you experts.

After the Course
The Yoga Village Mentorship program offers additional practical classroom experience to those interested in successfully cultivating the gift of teaching yoga. A combination of observation, co-teaching, and independent teaching further prepares you to teach with clarity and confidence. The Mentorship Program costs an additional $350 and must be completed a by 6 months after completing the YTT Program.

It is our deepest intention to give you wings as a teacher and the support that you need to carry forward the ancient knowledge of yoga with great skill and authenticity.

Investment
The cost of the YTT program is $2,700 (automatic debit monthly installments are accepted) with a $300 deposit upon application. Your deposit will be refunded if we do not accept your application. We expect that you attend each and every weekend in order to receive our certificate of completion. You will also be given 10 free drop in classes to take during this course and a discount on additional classes at BYV during the 9 month period. You are expected to take at least 2 classes per week at Baltimore Yoga Village or (if you are from out of state) an approved location.
