Intro to Yoga


Beginning Yoga can seem daunting. Positive thinking and compassion towards yourself is step one.  Getting to class without giving in to any excuses is step two. After that, we will take over, introducing you slowly to the basics and benefits of yoga. All you have to do is show up in comfortable clothing. Everything you need for the practice is here at the studio.  Being consistent in your practice is up to you.

Our Intro To Yoga classes teach the basics of yogic breathing, relaxation, exercises, and thinking in a systematic curriculum. This will allow you to build the foundation needed to take any class at Baltimore Yoga Village. This will be a great class incorporating traditional hatha with some vinyasa elements, plus many helpful handouts to supplement understanding yoga philosophy

 


 

Introduction to Yoga with Sara Sheikh is for brand new beginners or those returning after a long hiatus. Get a strong start! Learn about yoga, beyond the yoga postures. Learn about breathing, relaxation, and the physiological benefits of postures. You will also become more comfortable with a common series of postures so that you can comfortably step into other classes.

Yoganomics 101 with Stephanie Snyder

Keep it simple in 2012 and get back to basics with Anusara-Inspired yoga teacher, Stephanie Snyder. Stephanie is offering a ten-week series to get you started or keep you going in your yoga practice! With an element of playfulness but dedication to detailed alignment, she will take you on a journey of the heart to unveil your greatest potential with the most basic forms of yoga. Even if you already have some yoga experience, join us in reigniting beginner’s mind by learning to build from the foundation with Anusara’s set of alignment principles. Stephanie seeks to reveal what is already inside all of us: a divine right to living the fullness of Life through an open mind and soft heart expressing it though the unbelievable body. She is totally awe-struck in what the gifts of yoga offer and can’t wait to share them with you! *This class is designed, but not limited to beginners so that they may move onto any level I/II class after the series. Anyone interested in refining their form through the eloquent Universal Principles of Alignment may sign up for this series.
