Tuesday Mindfulness Group,
Every Tuesday 7:30 pm in Mt. Washington with Trish Magyari.
We encourage all serious students of yoga to practice meditation and mindfulness techniques and so we offer our Tuesday evening session by dana (Pali word for generosity; by donation; giving from the heart). Meditation has been proven effective relief for those who suffer from anxiety and depression as well as a number of stress related and chronic diseases. This Tuesday sangha is special and welcoming. You do not have to sit cross legged on the floor. A variety of seating options, including chairs are offered.
Group format: The format includes 1-hour of meditation practice (a combination of sitting and mindful movement) followed by community sharing, teaching and discussion. We end each session with lovingkindness meditation. MBSR graduates and others interested in mindfulness or Buddhist practices are welcome to attend. No pre-registration needed, this group meets on a drop-in basis. There are chairs, backjacks and a limited number of zafus available in the space. Feel free to bring your own supplies or use ours. The fee is "by donation" only meaning you pay as little or as much as you feel led for these sessions. In the spriit of "dana" (the Pail word for generosity), please use what feels right in your own heart as a guide. .
